GO TO IDEAL SECTOR

In addition to balanced governance and urban rights, participation is the third core principle of IDEAN‘s politics branch. The key-element of participatory development is sharing the power to decide. This implies that political and administrative power is generated from the bottom-up, grounded on equal citizenship and independent of class, gender or possessions.
A broad ownership and identification with the process is an important component of social development. A process of lifelong learning empowers the stakeholders and enables them to become citizens in a deeper sense. Ideal Sectors cultivate participation by maximising their integration with other principles such as transparent and inclusive information, the enabling of technology and collaborative learning, open networks, and public institutions. New technologies of sourcing collective intelligence are explored in particular, for example when it comes to participatory decision making on local needs.
